## Instructions

2. **Cook the sausage.** Add sausage to the same skillet, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through. Transfer to a bowl.

3. **Prepare broccoli.** Steam or microwave broccoli florets until just tender (about 4-5 minutes if fresh, 3-4 if frozen). Drain well to prevent watery sauce.

4. **Make Alfredo-style sauce.** In the skillet, melt 12 tbsp butter over medium-low heat. Add garlic (if using), sauté 1 min. Stir in 1½ cups heavy cream and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add shredded Monterey Jack cheese gradually, stirring until smooth and creamy.
